The useful question is whether several established shops agree on that price, because one cheap listing is a risk and five cheap listings is a market. Everything below was under £25 when we checked and sits at four or more of the UK retailers we track. That filter matters more than the number itself. ## Versace Blue Jeans, 75 ml Eight retailers, which is the widest stock we see on anything at this price. It is a 1990s Versace that never became a classic and never went away, which is exactly why it is cheap. Sweet, loud, unmistakably of its decade. The companion Red Jeans is £15.49 at five shops. Five retailers stock it. We have recorded it at £28.00, so the current price is a genuine floor rather than the usual level. ## Joop! Homme, 200 ml The best value per millilitre on this list by a distance. [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/joop-homme/eau-de-toilette-200ml) £21.49 for 200 ml is under 11p a millilitre. Our high on it is £47.35, which is more than double. Four retailers, and a fragrance divisive enough that you should smell it before committing to a bottle this size. ## Ralph Lauren Polo Sport, 75 ml [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/ralph-lauren-polo-sport/eau-de-toilette-75ml) £17.50, against a high of £48.75 in our record. That is the widest spread on the list and the strongest argument for comparing rather than buying at the first shop. ## Davidoff Adventure, 100 ml [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/davidoff-adventure/eau-de-toilette-100ml) £20.10 across five retailers, against a high of £29.99. Unremarkable and reliably cheap, which is a reasonable thing to want. ## Calvin Klein Eternity Moment, 100 ml [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/calvin-klein-eternity-moment/eau-de-parfum-100ml) £22.99 at five shops. Eau de parfum rather than eau de toilette, which is unusual at this price and worth noticing when you compare it against the toilette bottles above. ## Why these are cheap Age and volume, mostly. A designer fragrance that has been in production for twenty years is made in quantities that force the price down, and shops discount it because nothing about it is scarce. None of that makes it smell worse than it did. The exception is the fragrance that is cheap because it is being cleared. If a bottle is suddenly half its usual price at one shop and normal everywhere else, that is a stock decision, not a market. Our blocks show you which of the two you are looking at. ## The rule that matters more than the list A low price at one retailer proves nothing. A low price at five proves the fragrance is genuinely cheap, and it means you can buy from whichever of the five you trust rather than the one you have never heard of. [Estée Lauder Youth Dew](/blog/same-bottle-different-price-uk-retailers) is the counter-example we wrote about earlier: £17.99 at the cheapest of seven shops and £48.50 at the dearest, on the same morning. Cheap somewhere is not the same as cheap. Prices here come from our own reads of retailer product pages and move as those pages move, so treat the figures as where things stood rather than a promise. --- ## Givenchy L'Interdit: which bottle are you actually buying? A 35 ml eau de parfum, a 35 ml eau de parfum intense, and a 50 ml eau de toilette. Same name on the box, same price at the till, three different products. We track twelve L'Interdit bottles. Five of them are 35 ml. ## The five 35 ml bottles At the same size, in ascending price: hair mist £29.40, eau de toilette £47.20, eau de parfum £47.99, eau de parfum intense £47.99, and parfum £62.35. The listing title is often the only thing separating them, and it is frequently truncated. ## The cheapest L'Interdit is not perfume The hair mist is the lowest price of the twelve, which makes it the top result on any page sorted by price. Lighter, alcohol-reduced so it does not dry your hair out, and not meant to do the job of the eau de parfum. It is a perfectly good thing to own. It is not the thing you meant to buy when you searched for L'Interdit, and at 84p a millilitre it is not even cheap for what it is. ## Same money, different bottle The £47.99 collision is the interesting one. At that price you can have 35 ml of the eau de parfum or 50 ml of the eau de toilette. There is no correct answer, but there is a wrong way to arrive at one, which is not realising you were choosing. ## Intense and parfum do not mean anything fixed Concentration names are not regulated. Eau de toilette generally carries less fragrance oil than eau de parfum, and that much holds across brands. Everything above eau de parfum is the brand's own naming. Givenchy's L'Interdit ladder runs eau de toilette, eau de parfum, eau de parfum intense, then parfum. Another house might use "extrait", "elixir" or "absolu" at a completely different strength. Do not assume the word that sounds strongest is strongest, or that a higher price means a higher concentration. On L'Interdit at 35 ml, the intense and the standard eau de parfum are currently the same money. Stronger is not automatically better either. The eau de toilette is the one to buy if you want it to sit close to the skin in July. ## Before you pay Read the retailer's own product title in full, not the search snippet. Check the concentration and the millilitres both appear. If the page says one thing and the bottle image says another, believe neither until the retailer fixes it. Then compare that exact bottle across shops, rather than comparing whatever each shop happened to put on its L'Interdit page. That is 82p a millilitre against £1.85, for two bottles with the same name in the same size. ## The gap narrows as the bottles get bigger At 50 ml it is £60.00 and £81.00. At 90 ml it is £93.75 and £113.10. Whatever you think the Intense is worth, it is worth a very different amount depending on which size you happen to be looking at. ## The 30 ml is the best value here, which is unusual Work out the per millilitre price across the standard eau de parfum and it goes 82p at 30 ml, £1.20 at 50 ml, £1.04 at 90 ml. That is the opposite of [the pattern almost everywhere else in the catalogue](/blog/perfume-price-per-ml-uk), where the travel size carries a heavy premium. Worth being straight about why: we cannot tell you. Every size in this range currently sits at the lowest price we have recorded for it, so this is not one bottle being on offer while the others sit at list. The 30 ml is simply priced low against the rest today, and our record is only a few days deep. Which is the point. Size rules describe how things usually sit. A live price beats them, and that is the reason to check rather than to follow a rule. ## What Intense actually means here Nothing standardised. Eau de parfum concentrations are set by the brand, so "intense" is a product name rather than a measurement, and it does not map to a fixed percentage of fragrance oil. Practically: they are two different compositions. Smell both if you can. Do not buy the Intense on the assumption it is the same thing with more of it, and do not treat the price gap as a quality gap. ## Before you buy Confirm whether the listing says Intense, because at 30 ml that single word is a £31 decision. Then compare that exact bottle across shops rather than comparing the two products against each other. Not more per millilitre. More money, for half as much perfume. The small one is a handbag size sold on convenience, and it is priced accordingly. Nobody puts the two next to each other on a product page, so nobody notices. That is the extreme case. The ordinary case is almost as bad. ## Twice the perfume for £2.50 Michael Kors Sexy Amber runs £24.99 at 50 ml and £27.49 at 100 ml. Double the bottle for a tenth more money. If you will ever finish the bottle, the smaller one is simply worse. ## The ladder, in full [Marc Jacobs Daisy](/fragrances/marc-jacobs-daisy/eau-de-toilette-100ml) is sold in four sizes and shows the pattern cleanly. £29.99 at 30 ml, £37.99 at 50 ml, £50.90 at 100 ml, £75.95 at 200 ml. The largest bottle is under 40% the unit price of the smallest, for the identical liquid. [Versace Eros Flame](/fragrances/versace-eros-flame/eau-de-parfum-100ml) is worse at the bottom end. The 10 ml works out at £1.92 a millilitre and the 100 ml at 74p. The 90 ml works out at 49p a millilitre and the 150 ml at 58p, so the giant bottle is the worse deal today. The sizes retailers fight over get cut hardest, and that is usually the popular middle size rather than the biggest one. Where only one or two shops stock the 150 ml, there is nothing forcing the price down. Which is why the sum beats the rule of thumb. Work out the price per millilitre at every size on the page before you pick one. ## When the small bottle is still right If you are not sure you like it, buy small and accept the premium. You are paying for the option to be wrong, which is a reasonable thing to buy. Fragrance does not keep forever either. An opened bottle sitting in a warm bathroom for five years will not smell the way it did. If a 200 ml would take you a decade to finish, the per millilitre figure is theoretical. Everyone else should do the sum. ## The ten second version Divide the price by the millilitres. Do it for every size on the page, not just the one you had in mind. Then compare that number across shops rather than comparing the headline price. The refill saves you more than half. The 200 ml refill works out at 76p a millilitre and the 150 ml bottle at 55p, so the refill costs 37% more for the same liquid. There is no rule to learn here, which is the whole point of checking. ## What we found across the catalogue We track 39 cases where a refill and a normal bottle of the same fragrance exist at the same concentration. Comparing each refill against the best per millilitre price of any bottle size in that concentration: - 28 refills were cheaper per millilitre. - 2 came out identical. - 9 were dearer. So the refill wins about seven times in ten. That is a good bet, not a certainty, and the losses are not small. ## Where the saving is real The wins cluster at the top end, where the refill is large and the bottle is not. [Armani Acqua di Gio](/fragrances/armani-acqua-di-gio/parfum-100ml) parfum is 59p a millilitre in the 150 ml refill against 95p in the 100 ml bottle. [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/hugo-boss-bottled-beyond/eau-de-parfum-200ml-refill) The largest gap we have on record is Paco Rabanne Fame parfum, where the 200 ml refill is 53p a millilitre and the 80 ml bottle is £1.23. That is the same fragrance at less than half price, and it comes up again in [our guide to buying Fame](/blog/where-to-buy-paco-rabanne-fame-uk). ## Where it goes wrong Two things cause a losing refill. The first is size. A refill is only a bargain when it holds more than the bottle. Le Labo Santal 33 sells a 30 ml refill at £4.60 a millilitre while the 100 ml bottle is £2.20, but that is not a refill problem. The second is discounting. Retailers cut bottles far more often than refills, because the bottle is the thing people search for. When a 150 ml bottle is heavily marked down and the refill is sitting at list price, the refill loses. That is what happened to Burberry Hero eau de parfum above. ## The catch A refill assumes you kept the original bottle and that it opens. Not every flacon is designed to be reopened, and a refill with no way to decant is an expensive mistake. Check the brand sells the refill for the bottle you own, not just for the fragrance. Refills also tend to sit at fewer retailers than bottles, so there is less competition holding the price down and the number moves less often. That cuts both ways: less chance of a bargain, less chance of missing one. ## What to actually do Look at the refill price before you reorder, and convert both to a per millilitre figure before deciding. It takes ten seconds and it is right about seven times in ten. Then check it again next time. On the evidence above, the answer changes between concentrations of the same fragrance, so it will certainly change between months. What is less obvious is how far apart UK fragrance prices sit on a single ordinary day, for a bottle with the same name, the same concentration and the same millilitres. We check a set of UK retailers several times a day and record what each is asking. Three bottles from one sweep: ## Estée Lauder Youth Dew, 67 ml Seven retailers had it. The cheapest wanted £17.99 and the dearest wanted £48.50, which is nearly three times as much for the identical bottle. None of the higher prices were marked down and none of the lower ones were flash offers. It is what different shops decided the same thing was worth that morning. ## Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, 90 ml Also seven retailers, running from £44.50 to £93.50. [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/viktor-and-rolf-spicebomb/eau-de-toilette-90ml) Land on the wrong product page first and you pay more than double. ## Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir, 125 ml [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/jean-paul-gaultier-le-male-elixir/elixir-125ml) £75.00 to £99.00 across six retailers. Still £24 between the ends of it, though nothing like the other two. ## No shop is reliably cheapest On Spicebomb and Youth Dew, allbeauty was the most expensive of the seven. On Le Male Elixir, allbeauty was the cheapest of the six. That flip happens all over the catalogue. Retailers price hard on the lines they want to move and sit high on the rest, and which lines those are keeps changing. Buying from the same shop every time because it was cheapest once will cost you money eventually. ## What to do about it Check more than one shop every time you buy, not once to find a favourite. Last month's cheapest is often this month's dearest. Ignore the discount percentage while you are at it. A listing showing 40% off an inflated reference price can still be the dearest on the page. What matters is the price you pay against what everyone else wants for the same bottle today. And match the bottle before you compare anything. Eau de toilette and eau de parfum are different products, and so are a 50 ml and a 100 ml, a refill and a full bottle, a tester and a boxed one. A price that looks unbeatable is usually a smaller bottle. Every figure here came from our own checks of the retailers' own product pages, and the blocks above update as those prices move. If a number looks different when you read this, that is rather the point. --- ## CK One: buy the 200 ml, not the 300 ml Source: https://fragrancedealfinder.com/uk/blog/where-to-buy-ck-one-uk Updated: 2026-07-25 CK One comes in four sizes and the largest is not the best value. The 200 ml is 16p a millilitre and the 300 ml is 18p. You get 100 ml more for £20.53, which is worse than the rate you were already paying. ## The full ladder The 100 ml is the size most people buy and most retailers push. So £4.30 more takes you from 100 ml to 200 ml, which is the single best move on this page. Then there is the 20 ml. [Live price and recorded history for this exact bottle](https://fragrancedealfinder.com/fragrances/calvin-klein-ck-one/eau-de-toilette-20ml) £18.99 for 20 ml is 95p a millilitre, nearly six times the 200 ml rate. It is a reasonable thing to buy if you want CK One in a bag and nothing else, and an expensive mistake if you bought it because £18.99 looked cheaper than £28.50. ## Today against what we have seen CK One is at £28.50 for the 100 ml as we write this, and we have recorded it as high as £45.60 in the same window. That is a wide band for a fragrance this old and this widely made, and it is the reason a headline discount tells you almost nothing here. A shop advertising 30% off a £45 reference price is asking more than a shop quietly listing it at £28.50. Five UK retailers stock it, so there is usually somewhere cheaper than the first result you clicked. ## Why it is this cheap CK One launched in 1994 and has been in production ever since. Nothing about it is scarce, and shops discount it because they can always get more. That is the same reason the other bottles on our [under £25 list](/blog/cheap-designer-fragrances-uk-under-25) are cheap, and none of it changes how the fragrance smells. It was marketed as a shared fragrance rather than a men's or women's one, which was unusual then and is unremarkable now. ## Before you buy Check the size on the retailer's own page. CK One is sold in more sizes than most fragrances and listing titles get truncated, so the cheapest-looking result can be the 20 ml or a gift set rather than the bottle you meant.
